Why You Should Attend
From taxes to development, bike lanes to public parks and schools, the Mayor of Chicago will have significant impact on the West Loop. Since the last election, much of the major policy changes impacting the West Loop were due to policies originating from the Mayor’s office thru the Department of Planning & Development ( DPD) such as the expansion of the downtown district into the West Loop and the ability for developers to buy height and density thru the Neighborhood Opportunity Bonus Ordinance.
In addition, NoWL has received numerous complaints regarding major construction projects occurring simultaneously creates an unsafe environment for residents from poor lighting on pubic streets and sidewalks, reduced sight lines at corners, and illegal parking by construction companies. Should the City improve safety at these construction sites?. What are your suggestions to improve the situation?
Help to shape the direction and policies for the West Loop. Make sure the the new Mayor understand your concerns and issues for the West Loop.
