On Tuesday, the Chicago Department of Planning Development (DPD) and the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) presented their latest thinking on Chicago’s Randolph Fulton Market District. (Read full event recaps here from DNAinfo Chicago and Crain’s Chicago Business.)
The deck included some rough recommendations and guidelines on:
– zoning and land use
– building design principles
– Historic District designation (area defined)
– Traffic/parking studies, and streetscape recommendations
– Weekly market
While the plans are still a work in progress, several next steps were announced during the meeting, including an April 3 meeting of the Commission on Chicago Landmarks to discuss, among other things, historic designation for the Fulton Randolph Market District. The meeting will be at 12:45pm at City Hall (121 N. LaSalle), Room 201-A.
Future information about the Fulton Randolph Market District, including meeting dates and times, will be posted on the Neighbors of West Loop website, so stay tuned for updates. You can also sign up for the NOWL newsletter at the top of this page.
