On Saturday June 13 the Neighbors of West Loop Craft Beer Festival will take place on Clinton St. in front of Chicago French Market, located at 131 N. Clinton St., between the hours of noon and 5pm.
More than 40 breweries will pour craft beer samples at tents spread within a 40,000 square foot space between Lake St. and Washington Blvd. Randolph St. will be closed down during the festival operating hours.
“Our community organization is thrilled to put on an event in the heart of the City of Chicago with the help of volunteers, which we are still recruiting for” said Larry Gage, President of Neighbors of West Loop, a non-profit group comprised of West Loop residents. “We are proud to celebrate with the booming craft beer industry on the streets of Chicago,” Gage continued. “And you really can’t beat the accessibility to public transportation!”
The Clinton Green and Pink Line stops are located at the north end of the festival’s footprint. In addition, Ogilvie Station, where Chicago French Market is located, provides access to Chicago’s Metra Station. Ticket purchasing beer lovers are encouraged to take public transportation or ride their bike.
Food artisans from Chicago French Market will provide a variety of food for purchase. “This will be one of our best events of the season that showcases seven of our resident food artisans in Chicago French Market,” Marian Jarocki, Director of Marketing said. “We are proud to be participating with the Neighbors of West Loop to celebrate our fantastic neighborhood.”
While there will be fun, interactive games during the festival, quality craft beer will be the focal point of entertainment, with a majority of the craft breweries hailing from the Chicagoland area. The craft brewers are generously donating their time and craft beer to support Neighbors of West Loop’s fundraiser. Leading the expanding roster of participating craft breweries is the West Loop’s own Haymarket Pub & Brewery, located at 737 W. Randolph St.
“Whether you make it a day trip or a weekend celebration, this festival is a can’t miss event,” said Pete Crowley, co-owner and head brewer of Haymarket Pub & Brewery. “This event is put on by locals, supported by the brewers themselves, easy to get to and for a good cause,” Crowley continued. “I hope to see lots of beer lovers on Saturday, June 13th!’
New Belgium Brewing will participate as a Golden Brewer Sponsor, committing to bring fun and interactive experiences, along with an expanded beer list, including staples from their Lips of Faith Series. Chicago’s own Revolution Brewing will participate as a Silver Brewer Sponsor, hosting a tent on Clinton St. with an expanded beer list.
General Admission tickets for the festival cost $50 and include 20 tastings between 1pm and 5pm. In addition to Chicago French Market food vendors, Kaiser Tiger will serve some of their carnivorous offerings as well, as the festival looks to annually incorporate more businesses from the culinary neighborhoods within the West Loop. GA tickets, if available, will cost $65 at the festival check-in.
VIP tickets for the festival cost $80 and include early entry at noon, 25 tastings and food tickets valued at $10 to use towards food purchase. In addition, VIP ticket holders will gain access to a VIP area that will include specialty pours from participating craft breweries and wine samples from the West Loop’s City Winery. On top of that, VIPs will be treated to a Bloody Mary to start the festival off in the CH Distillery tasting room, located at 550 W. Randolph St., on the west end of the festival footprint, where check-in will be located.
