2015 Golden Sponsor: New Belgium Brewing

Yes, New Belgium isn’t a Chicago beer (Fort Collins, Colorado, what up!) but you know what? They show serious love to Chicago. They have outstanding beer ambassadors that put on crazy cool events, like Tour De Fat coming July 11 – more on that in a bit!

We bet you’re thirsty for what New Belgium will be pouring at West Loop Craft Beer Festival and here are the three glorious beers!
Slow Ride Session IPA – Taste some juicy fruit sweetness upfront but balanced clean hop bitterness
Pear Ginger Beer – Spicy fresh ginger, citrus, lemon candy on the nose **LIMITED quantity for GA**
Snapshot Wheat – Taste sweet and moves into a tangy sourness that finishes clean

Within the confines of VIP, you can get all the Pear Ginger Beer your little heart desires.

Now… back to Tour De Fat. First of all: they’re in their 16th year. Second of all: It’s coming back to Chicago Saturday, July 11 in Palmer Square!! The event is free, yet all donations and proceeds from beer and merchandise sales go to West Town Bikes. We love us a good non-profit fundraiser with tasty beers, amiright?!

Tour De Fat kicks off with a costumed bicycle parade that winds through city streets; starting and stopping in Palmer Square. There will be musical acts, from Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds and Reggie Watts, yo-yo performers, bike contests, even vaudeville acts! This year will also feature some brewing education and feature a “Bicycle Revival” to inspire festivalgoers to believe in the power of two-wheeled transportation.

Kids are absolutely invited to this event, where they can ride funky bikes in the bike corral, eat delicious fare from local food trucks, chill in the grass and participate in fun games such as a “Thousand Person Dance Contest,” which will determine the winner of a sweet 2015 New Belgium Cruiser Bike. Everyone of legal age to enjoy alcoholic beverages can sample new and classic beers from New Belgium, including the flagship brew, Fat Tire, this summer’s seasonal, Skinny Dip, the brand new year-round offering, Slow Ride Session IPA, rare Lips of Faith Brews and a rare tapping of Carnie’s Blood.

New Belgium Brewing’s Tour de Fat Impresario (we like the sound of that!) said, “This really is one of the best ways to spend a Saturday – there isn’t much that can beat the fun that comes with dressing up, riding a bike, drinking beer, listening to music and just having a great day with old and new friends. There really is no excuse not to experience the magic yourself!”
